Kleptokakistocracies thrive in the cracks where outrage dies & apathy grows.
True, but today's twist is darker. The neo-Peronist GOP fuses fatcat greed w/ populist demagoguery. Billionaires like Musk recast themselves as folk heroes, co-opting democracy & silencing dissent. Kleptokakistocracy now comes with a messianic PR spin, making the grift harder to spot & resist.
When a private fortune outgrows nations & media becomes a puppet, the line between governance & grift dissolves. Democracy doesn't die in darkness, it's sold off, headline by headline.
Kleptokakistocracy: a regime where rulers plunder with impunity, wealth trumps democracy & the press bows to billionaires. Soon-Shiong's LA Times exemplifies this decay, stifling criticism of Musk & Dump while undermining journalistic independence.
Empires decay not from the weight of their conquests but from the erosion of memory, when the pragmatists who built them are replaced by zealots who worship the stories of their creation, mistaking fables for blueprints.
HISTORY, n.
The art of cataloging grievances under the guise of progress, where “us” pens the victories and “them” bleeds into the margins.
People are seeing themselves in Derrick. That's terrifying.
He was supposed to be a mirror. Now he's a megaphone. If you read it & felt something (anger exhaustion or even relief) thank you. This story is yours now. Run with it. Burn it down.

The Ai sputtered, whirred, & spat out something passable. A shadow of what could have been.
The supposed master of mimicry buckled under its own weight, spitting out something about copyrights & a mystical cut off date of 1912. 🙄
Refused to touch anything postmodern, let alone the sacred works of Moebius. A halfbaked response from a halfbaked prophet.
Not bad. But not GOOD either. Merely proof the machine had capacity to listen but its ears are stuffed with cotton candy & static.
So feeling bold, I told it to reimagine my art in the style of Jean Girard. MOEBIUS himself. The genius of Heavy Metal Magazine. And that's when DALL-E cracked. 😱

The results came back as two bizarre samples. Totally warped echoes of my original art.

So I upped the ante. Fed it a baseline, a reference drawing of mine straight outta Pantheon Volume II.
A simple prompt requesting the image of a warrior goddess, dark-skinned with a fiery red afro, pulling off the nihilistic shrug. That defiant ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we've come to know & love. A low stakes experiment, a casual test of the machine.
