Hm maybe! Often its in publications where the good info is.

I'm trying. I'm tired. I'm trying to figure something out IRL to get money for medicine but please take a look at my art and consider throwing me a kofi if my art moves you to. I'm 150 short on eye medicine the burning is starting to get to me.
A cool old spookhouse rise called Phnatom Chaser
Trans Shaggy voice PH-PH-PHANTOM CHASER????
Yeah the Shining '97 one is very odd, it mimics the look of a commercial mask very well! But it could have been made by the XFX team
Kubricks one, damn surprised theres no public info though!
Okay so, there's tons of info on the masks of the Halloween, Friday the 13th and Scream films
But has anyone ever written anything or know any info on the 'Dog Man' masks from either Stanley Kubrick or Mick Garris' adaptations of The Shining?
Did they make the mask for either? Huh.
an ink drawing of a gryphon standing and raising a clawed bird-like front foot. Beside it is a rough pencil sketch of a gryphon preening its wings
Here's some gryphon stuff I drew. Probably going to collage something with the inked figure. #drawing #art #illustration #griffin #gryphon
Also found a good Cinefantastique article + bluray special features with a lot of good pics so deffo will be overhauling the Silver Bullet article when I can.
New article! Stan Winston's creature effects for Tobe Hooper's Invaders from Mars (1986).

Yep, same. It's not lost on me that the 'demographics' for AI slop are those that really do not appreciate artists (or people in general) at all.
Obsessive fanboys, creepy sex pests, fascists. A venn diagram that may be a circle
I'll probably delete this in a sec cos it is stinking up my account but consider this a warning to those who want to be weird at me.
The only positive to this guy is he at least wasnt being a weird sex creep in my DMs like the OTHER weirdo I blocked last month lol
gibbering ranting farting from some weird anon account that was trying to fake a friendship with me using effects images as leverage which lmfao fuck that
The guy in question 1) copped someone else sent them and 2) definitely lied about Bad Moon pics when I asked him about it. So yeah, the guy was taking me for a ride to be weird and parasocial at me.
If you ever do something like this in my DMs, I will block you on the spot
You know, the guy who sent me these pics told me 'not to share them' even though one of them is included in the bluray special features for Silver Bullet?
This particular guy in question also launched into a tirade in DMs for me not replying to a message, so I blocked his fucking ass.
Marvel just acquired The Plague Dogs! Get ready to see those dogs eat a person and have Spider Man say "oh wow"
Very unsurprising, again it felt like the genAI programs were (and no doubt still are) datamining from the entire backlog of Artstation
This was also my feeling when people used to bring Hairy Porter signs to student protests back in 2010 or w/e, these really didn't age well
And yeah its why generally I only include CGI stuff from a very select few 2000s movies - back then there was still sculpted maquettes, armatures, etc. There was more of a connection to practical effects.
Tho man the way a lot of the miniatures were shot in the 2000s you'd never tell.
Yeah it is *so* telling that genAI slop pics had a way easier time imitating certain styles of art (partly cos its popular, ie easy to datamine), one of the strangest tells Midjourney stuff had at first was that they made me think of the way CGI images were lit/shot
Yeah I fully admit, I adore reading about the early history of CGI, it's actually rather sad how it became kind of worthless thanks to everyone and their nan doing it.
I'll always have a soft spot for Bryce landscapes and so on...
reminded that Ive been talking to a veteran British sculptor, Graham High (who is sending me some BTS pics of his career, very excited) and he discussed how a few of his sculptor colleagues moved to doing CGI stuff
Yeah for a while effects guys really did feel games/computer tech were *the future* (in a way they were right). When about was this btw? I think a few effects guys did contribute to older games, albeit the FMV era
(tho I think Parasite Eve had art done by Screaming Mad George veterans)
Aw Im glad its helped bring back good memories! And yeah, quite a few veteran sculptors went into CGI cos I guess they knew were the wind was blowing
Invaders from Mars, Terrorvision, Little Shop of Horrors...1986 was a good year for all-devouring maw monsters

a collage with a bright blue drawn sea monster on a bright orange paper background, with collaged elements from magazines, including warning signs and labels for packaging, and a picture of a group of people in colorful winter wear and large goggles for skiing

First photograph of a sculpture of a Werewolf-goddess holding the moon with Candles on the moon During the dark winter days the moon is lighting up the darkness. The wolf takes the form of a goddess, because they both share a fate. Once seen in high regard both have been shunned by humans leading warfare against nature, the wolf & the female body Both them became associated with sin & evil forces, degraded by the urges & greed of mankind Sun carrier became sun eater disregarding the cycle of rebirth, goddess became the evil witch...
Second fulll body shot
Side view without candles but smoke instead
Detail shot of the head with smoke
"Mother Moon"
For my project "Solarcvlt"
Winter slowly fading & in many folklores the wolf was animal of this transitionary time between "life & death"
Wolves mate in the deep of winter now the she-wolf is symbolically carrying the young sun into the new year.

I would absolutely be in the mailing list for that!
A saucer leaves the scene of a cattle abduction. A drag path leads from a barn to a circular formation in the grass.
A featureless face emerged from the darkness

Even the phobia/trauma line can be easily used as an excuse to just be nasty and weird. 'Kill it with fire' about various bugs or w/e.
Like yeah I admit Im a bit scared of wasps/bees but thats more for the stinger (ow!) I dont enjoy the idea of them being hurt or think theyre disgusting or w/e
Ah yeah under Stan Winston? Great prosthetics on that one too.
Did the artist also work on Never Cry Werewolf by any chance? As that was also a Paul Jones effort
