Essex defeats #Amherstburg 6-3 in Game 1 of their PJHL Stobbs Division semi-final series tonight at the Essex Centre Sports Complex.
Stefan Djordjevic scores twice and Cooper Bulmer once for the Admirals.

Game 2 is Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Libro Centre.

Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, the Ontario Minister of Long-Term Care, was in Amherstburg March 4 to visit the site of the new Chateau Park Long-Term Care Home. The home is moving from its 59-bed facility in Windsor to the new 160-bed home in Amherstburg, with it expected to open in mid-2027.

Since this was posted, the World Day of Prayer service at Christ Church scheduled for March 6 has been postponed.

The Black and White Show being unveiled today by The Local Collective Art Project at The O, located in Hotel STRY. Local artists presenting their latest works, all with a black and white theme. Fifteen artists from #Amherstburg and surrounding areas participating.

#Amherstburg still leads PJHL Stobbs Division quarterfinal series three games to two. Game 6 will be at the Libro Centre Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m.

Amherstburg's Coldest Night of the Year happened tonight (Feb. 28) and was based out of the #Amherstburg Community Hub. The 2K and 5K walks benefit The House Youth Centre, with the goal this year being $50,000. Donations are being accepted until March 31 at www.cnoy.org/amherstburg.

PIE A TEACHER — Students at North Star High School in #Amherstburg had a chance to throw pies at teachers during the lunch break Feb. 25. After the pies were thrown and everything was cleaned up, the school raised over $1,300 for Kids Curing Cancer.

CEREAL DRIVE — The team at Carol's Unisex Hair Design held their latest food drive for the food bank at #Amherstburg Community Services. The hair salon focused on cereal this time around, collecting 280 boxes. That surpassed their previous record of 240 boxes. ACS picked up the boxes Feb. 27.
