The status quo is so ingrained in the social consciousness that it can be hard to imagine anything else. It takes mental work to get yourself out of that swamp. I think if more people read novels, no matter what type, it would help their brains be open to imagining things differently.

To be fair, this kind of thing did happen in both nazi Germany and Soviet Russia (at times). I do agree though, they consider nazis much more palatable than communists, although they equate them as being the same when it suits them. Almost as if their arguments don't make sense at all.

I'm actually shocked at how this winter wave has gone. I'm in Norfolk County, which is about as far south as you can get in Ontario. Friends up further north have said that they didn't get anything. Definitely enjoying the beauty. Im sure you'll get yours soon!
