Doodleish response - sketchbook spread showing a man walking beneath a street light in the rain
I did my negative space in black just to be contrary
Suggestions : a single place setting at a huge dinner table. A ship in a deep sea, something in outer space, etc. It might suggest loneliness or a circumstance that is silent / quiet, etc. Your negative space doesn't have to be white paper. E.g: candlelight in the darkness.
#Doodleish no:9Β 'Negative space'.Β
Β π§΅A compositional task that focuses on empty space around your image to enhance its effect. E.G: emphasizing a large empty room or as the example, a large open empty outdoor space. Have a go. It can be anything. Over to @jennispangler.bsky.social

Prompt: 5
I've always loved illustrated envelopes so I thought we could have a go. You can use an actual envelope if you like. I've drawn mine on the page. Have fun. 'Send it/them' to whoever you want... @jennispangler.bsky.social will respond as always...
Youβre not under time pressure with Doodleish. You can have fun with it whenever you want. Hereβs me finishing @jennispangler.bsky.social βs prompt from Sunday. Next one is tomorrow at middayβ¦

Proper books. Brilliant stuff.
A notebook page showing doodles of the covers of Roald Dahl's Matilda, A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers, The White Dragon by Anne McCaffrey, and a phone showing several thumbnail covers. It is drawn in a red-orange ink with yellow accents.
The same spread as before this time showing the entire notebook with three pens placed down on the facing page.
On the way back from my writing conference, #doodleish prompt 2 with my TWSBI Swipe fountain pen, a highlighter and a bit of pencil for the layout. Ink is Diamine Ancient Copper.
Interesting thinking about books that influenced me in context of all the writing workshops I just finished.

#doodleish prompt 4:
All the childrenβs books last week made me nostalgic, so letβs go back to basics with our ABCs!
