There was fish poop!
Spotted a bobcat yesterday!
I carved out some time to check this out. It's a hard listen because 1) yes, me too, but also 2) I know I've had fewer issues in the field than many, and it's given me blind spots I'm trying to learn to cover, especially with regards to protecting my own students.
Not the kind of person you want to coauthor with or accept funding from...
If the paleo community is going to be serious about Horner’s connection to Epstein, we also have to be serious about Myhrvold’s, because guess who contributed photos of animals mating to Epstein’s birthday book and has been appearing in new paleo papers this year - including the new Spinosaurus.
Yes all talks are recorded and available on the @coloradoscientific.bsky.social website!
Can’t wait!!!
Sarah made this and everything about it is LIES
Tonight’s the night for my talk for @maryanningsrevenge.bsky.social at the Colorado Scientific Society monthly meeting, and the weather seems to be holding! So much chalk talk incoming!
Fingers crossed for fossil fish poop!
Thank you for sharing

Jack Horner Facebook post from 12 Feb. So, while I'm being investigated by SVP, why don't you outraged paleo-people get back to doing some factual science, using the scientific method. You seem to have forgotten how that works, you know, using actual evidence? For Darren, I think this is essential, as I get the impression from his DinoCon disinvite, he's still cheesed off from Kevin and I pummeling him over the whole Darwin sexual selection argument back in 2013. But, I do thank you Darren, for weeding out the invasive nuisances from my social media platforms, I was curious as to how I was going to do that on my own.
For people outside of paleontology:
This senior paleontologist, who married a 19-year-old, visited a convicted pedophile in 2012 & 2016. Is beefing over a conference argument from 13 years ago, angry because he was banned from a family-friendly event across the Atlantic. The level of petty.
Pretty sure nothing happened to this individual. The guy had guns in his hotel room. SVP knew he was an issue in advance and instead of rejecting his abstract, they asked him to edit it to not name specific people in his weird manifesto.
Guess who gets applauded on their rational response to Jack Horner being in the Epstein files?
Not SVP, that's for sure. But good job @dinoconuk.bsky.social !

2 trike beaks, pointy side down. Curatorial finger for scale
Happy #FossilFriday from this pair of Triceratops beaks!
We're looking at the underside of the tips of the lower jaw. Interestingly the one on the left has a deep midline cleft, likely due to a congenital defect. Didn't slow this Trike down though, as it lived a long life growing large. 🧪🦕
A quick statement about current and ongoing events in paleontology - but this philosophy should also be duly applied to all sciences and walks of life.
Screenshot of a statement from SVP that they find “no policy violations” in having members appear in the Epstein letters
Really SVP? You’re just going to ignore decades of sexual and academic misconduct, marrying a student AT one of your conferences, and every report I’ve filed (implying that’s what you do with reports) to defend famous Horner? You’d rather have pedophiles than students is your message?
I’ve already been incredibly disappointed by @societyofvertpaleo.bsky.social’s handling (and lack of accountability) on serious safety and ethical issues. This latest statement is the final straw.
So excited to be in SLC for my first DinoFest!
Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our first talk of 2026! Dr. Gussie Maccracken from @denvermuseumns.bsky.social gave an excellent presentation about plant life across the Cretaceous- Paleogene mass extinction to a full house.

Two scientists pose inside the giant toothy jaws of the extinct shark, Megalodon
Don’t let the smile fool you, @mosasaurologist.bsky.social is actually screaming because I made him pose with his exhibits at Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center 🤣 He’d rather get eaten by a Megalodon.
Grey printed snoots that I let people handle so they could feel the point that I was making
I just wanted to show off some super detailed prints of Martinichthys snoots that I was using as tactile examples at our GSA poster on Monday. Happy #FossilFriday! Cc @maryanningsrevenge.bsky.social 🧪🐟
LIFE GOAL ACHIEVED!!!
Wish I could be there for our fossil fish feces poster! Thanks for representing @mosasaurologist.bsky.social!
