What's driving inflation? Not your wages, but the RBA remains worried we all are doing too well and more of us need to be unemployed

Cutting red tape shows that when we β€˜trust the market’ taxpayers usually end up footing the bill The point.com.au

Good regulation is good for productivity growth. Lack of regulation is driving inefficiency.

Poorly regulated building markets led to debacles like the cracking in Opal Towers and flammable cladding being expensively replaced across the country

Just because you went to school doesn't make you an expert on teaching Reinstate trust in the teaching profession. That might just be the perfect place to start in fixing the teacher shortage.

Love when @nicolemockler.bsky.social drops truth bombs. β€œRespect matters. Valuing what teachers actually know and do, and recognising that it’s complex…would be a pathway to reinstating trust in the teaching profession.”

My son with autism had a teacher in an IEP meeting say that she didn’t do that, β€˜that’ being writing what was happening each day on the board in the morning or on a piece of paper for him. She had 3 goals for him in that IEP. One was that he ruled a margin in his book. What f’ing use is a margin?

One simulation is of a parent giving them hell which usually sends the PST reeling. The PST is then armed with strategies for difficult conversations and goes back in with most feeling more confident as a result of the exercise.

Uni of Newcastle models ITE on the Quality Teaching Model (now 20 years old) and focus on β€œbasics” of:
- how to speak and think well
- how to act well in a material world
- how to relate well with others

Next week will be the Parliament's last chance to spare voters from an onslaught of outright lies in political ads.

87% of Australians support truth in political advertising laws. Our Government should do its job.

It was easy to read, with some clever writing and turns of phrase, bringing back to my ear what I heard in my youth. The integration of Australian history into it all, was the cherry on top. 2/2

I jump into teacher mode and say, β€œDo you not have ear buds?”. Some say no, and try to argue that they have a right, but all so far turn the volume down or off within a few minutes.
