An early 20th-century cat propaganda poster. A grey cat in worker garb stands in the foreground pointing at a large, empty bowl. In the background is a factory city whose workers are pouring into the streets. The cat asks the viewer through the top text of the poster "The owners have taken our labour, our life. And in return?" It is answered in bold text in the middle of the poster with "Empty Bowls!"

An acrylic painting inspired by Starry Night. It is a side view cat portrait of a tabby looking at the moon. In the background are various cattree shaped buildings. The starry sky is painted in moving, swirling strokes.

A painting in the style of early-20th century constructivists. It features a black and red geometric shape like a sickle just off center. Overlapping its edge is a red circle with another smaller circle inside it that is a portrait of a cat. Words, in black red and white, lined up geometrically with some of the forms read "grow + nip 1925". These elements are arranged on a pure white background creating high contrast.

I have one or two laser toner of this left. I had pulled it as I wanted to either reimage it or enhance the image file I have before putting it up again as a giclee print. The toner image is good but i thought I could make it better. I could make an order for the toner or new giclee.

A propaganda poster featuring cats. This poster is based on a well-known soviet anti-alcohol poster. A cat in a suit is eating a fish dinner. They are offered a glass of nip spirits from an arm reaching into the frame in front of the figure. The eating cat holds up a paw in a gesture of refusing the drink. Large text says "Nah!" smaller text at bottom reads "No nip today - friends and comrades need me."

Beauty of a poster, "Nah! No Nip Today" is ready as an as-is poster or customizable cat portrait version. #digitalart #catart

A cat poster in the style of a mid-century soviet propaganda poster. A grey and white cat in work overalls has his arms outstretched kneading a large pillow shaped clump of dough. Behind him is another cat that holds a bowl of baked biscuits. They stand in front of a huge red flag behind which is a graphic of rows of conveyor belts of biscuits in a biscuit factory. There is a logo for the "International Union of Biscuit Makers" and bold text at the bottom which reads "The Kneads of the People Come First - Full Bellies! - Food For All!" In smaller type various credits.

One of the first and most powerful of the international unions, the Biscuit Makers (est. 1904) was at the forefront of struggles for dignity and justice in the lives of working cats. Its message resonates through the many worlds: "The kneads of the people come first!" #digitalart #catart #union

An ink drawing, coloured with markers, that is a drawing of an election poster. A large hammer, shaped like a 5, comes down on the heads of three cats with bewildered looks on their faces. The three cats represent capital, fascism, and reaction. The hammer is labelled "Slate (5) Communist Party."

Slate 5 is a cat world rendition of a 1928 Weimar election poster.

he sold only 1 painting in his lifetime and died young. The fact we let this happen to artists still is a tragedy. He was worth something, but many in his community let him down cuz they couldnt see his value.

With my artwork, I've definitely found a niche that works. I get by, but mostly it is not from originals, but prints. I think on average I sell three small paintings a year. If I relied on it I'd be done.

I guess Im trying to say that there may be nothing wrong with your art practice or even selling as such. This is not to say that things cannot be done or improved, but fine art is a tough sell and the social conditions and formal rules can make it harder.

The boug get to have a pleasant day surrounded by the aura of original artwork subsidized by the artists. The class based analysis of this writes itself. The median income of artists here in Ontario is under 40k and many make under 10k from art.

At the info session artists were told, rather casually, not to expect to sell anything. This indurated the sense that a lot of art is created by people who do not have to worry about making ends through art. At such shows artists are denied a revenue stream and people with fewer means priced out.

The first time I did a fine art show (like an art in the park type thing) here in Toronto. The fee was something like $500+ for the two days, and this was, I think, 7 years ago. There were rules that only a very small portion of a booth could be reproductions.

The tiny corner text reveals they hail from the Tronto System, a play on Toronto, the city where they originate in our world. I think if there are truly spacefaring civilizations out there they are post-capitalist, post-warring nation state civilizations. Make it so! (With the nod to TNG).

A cat poster in the style of a soviet propaganda poster. An orange cat in blue embraces a sphynx cat dressed in yellow. Side by side they both face the viewer with happy expressions. In the background above them hovers a flying saucer with a large beam of light coming down. The space is full of yellow and orange star shapes and the orbits of two planets are shown to link. At bottom are the words "Galactic Friendship - Make it so!" Signed Nathan Nun 2020.

This poster #art is an odd one as it is a hypothetical within a hypothetical, imagining the cat world's response to meeting aliens. The aliens are Sphynx cats; I always thought they looked like the grey alien version of cats.

Draining the World, a little drawing from 2018. "Capital is dead labour, which, vampire-like, lives only by sucking living labour, and lives the more, the more labour it sucks."
