I personally tend to write from the point-of-view of characters in situations and relationships where it is extremely toxic, dangerous, and they romanticize/eroticize it. However, even though I write about people-eating and abusive relationships doesn’t mean that in real life I condone it

of things like dub/con, incest, and other heavy topics that are, well, taboo in real society and for good reason. I would argue that one of the whole points of Gothic art is to explore themes of corruption and forbidden decadence and share that perversion with a willing audience.

We can always put down said art and walk away if it makes us uncomfortable. Afterall, not all stories and art is meant to make the reader/viewer comfortable. Especially those that reside within the Gothic genre of art, where there are heavy themes

I’m not calling out them for not wanting to consume said dark pieces. I’m merely asking them not to yuck others fictional yums. The beauty of this modern age of technology is that we can simply keep scrolling and block/mute anyone whose content we aren’t comfortable with.

I firmly believe that as taboo art and the artists, especially queer creators, have very powerful stories to tell... even if it’s just so-called “p/o/r/n with or without a plot.” I am aware that there are certain elements and themes within the taboo art space that make a lot of people uncomfortable.

On my own personal author account, I am very supportive of those creating taboo art. As a disabled queer person who not only grew up closeted due to being taught by my community and society at large to think that who I am and who I love makes me a sinner and a monster,
