i don't care if people use llms to write code for their projects. nowadays, pro models will probably write better code in the small than most humans.

but. outsourcing your README intro wholesale says to me you're just a code theremin, not a thinker. have taste and a voice, and use them.

the chat demo kind of blew my mind. chatjimmy.ai wild product. worth reading their post. the 0.028s generation time (15k tok/sec) gives it a different quality altogether. 8B today, bigger coming; it does need to scale.. but i'm more curious about networks of these things. neat.

codex successfully one-shotted vhdl for an ice40 hx4k w/ 2 examples for the board. everything synthesized & built, & it wrote notes for the next agent. on another, w/ a closed loop, synthesis failed (once) because Fmax didn't have the margin so it simplified combinatoric logic. haha, ffs. impressed.

It's ambiguity-in-unintended-consequences-out when you don't know what you don't know. There are plenty of domains I can think of where writing it yourself would be safer, higher quality, and provably correct using your own expert knowledge. For everything else, though ... ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

AGENTS.md AGENTS.md is a simple, open format for guiding coding agents. Think of it as a README for agents.

Things like AGENTS.md are surprisingly effective, and there's all kinds of things one could say about that, but practically speaking they're a win. I had to invest and change my process, learn, experiment and tolerate some BS to make it my own. Short leashes, write great specs, plan-before-do, etc.

FWIW I can see this result with the non-SOTA models. oai 5.2 pro / 5.2 codex xtra high has been exceptional for me. Mostly likely, I guess, I just have less stringent requirements. It doesn't get everything perfect for me either, but code quality is at least good enough to trivially close any gap.
