GitHub Copilot - I really like how it integrates seamlessly with my existing IDE setup. Doesnβt mess with my shortcuts and just fits right in.
Anything I'm missing out on?

Anything I'm missing out on?
Zed - Great IDE experience, kind of like VSCode, but definitely still feels beta. Curious to see how it evolves.
Cursor - Another one that feels a lot like VSCode (pretty sure itβs built on Codeium).
Warp - Really cool terminal UI. Logging into a terminal felt a bit weird, and I had some concerns about where my inputs were being sent. Terminals often deal with sensitive stuff, so Iβm not totally comfortable with a fully AI-powered terminal just yet.
What AI tools are you using at the moment for PHP and JS development?
Hereβs what Iβve tried so far:
Number of the beast πΉ
Yeah, it was a legit question. Thanks for the answer, still don't get it but guess that's alright π
I donβt need AI to write code for me. I need AI to write my Jira tickets.
WTF is "vibe coding"?
For those who often speak at meetups, conferences, and similar events, do you reuse talks, rotate a setlist, or mix it up? Creating a new talk with research and review for every event seems overwhelming, especially with 2β3 talks a month. How do you manage it?
Created a new Reddit account to share some of the stuff Iβve been working on in subreddits like Laravel, PHP, etc. But itβs literally impossible to get a post or comment through without it getting banned. I get the need for spam protection, but seriously, come on!
Heading to London for the @phpukconference.bsky.social tomorrow. If you're around, let me know!
On a personal note: Arizona Peach Iced Tea is the best thing ever, if you know where to bulk source this in the UK. Let me know!
Speaking of domains, I own getagig.co.uk, if any businesses in that space are interested, Iβd be happy to part ways with it for a legit offer. Otherwise, who knows? I might just get bored one weekend and build an app for it.
If you're interested what's on it without clicking the link, here...
I own the domain isphpdying.com, this question comes up all the time, and it's a bit of a funny running joke. I've been thinking about doing more with it but I'm not quite sure. Open to any suggestions!
P.S. I know the TLS is expired, (don't worry! it's safe) I haven't gotten around to renewing it.
Still looking for a Senior Software Engineer that is experienced with PHP and JS at Wordnerds. It's hybrid so ideally looking for someone around Newcastle-Upon-Type area.

Hey! I'm looking for information and case studies on using distributed SQLite (or similar variants). What are the key use cases, the benefits observed, and the drawbacks or considerations when implementing this kind of architecture?
ChatGPT really struggles with generating Caddyfiles. Every time I ask for improvements, suggestions, or alternative approaches, it spits out nonsense that doesnβt work. I then end up wasting time searching for modules that donβt even exist.
Happy for any feedback if you think there is anything else useful that I might be missing, or better ways of doing things?
Iβm steering away from HomeAssistant because home automation feels like too much effort to keep everything in sync. Iβm also on the fence about setting up an email server for the same reason, though Iβd only use it for unimportant outbound mail from locally hosted services like Gitea.

Right now, I have a cluster of three Raspberry Pi 4s, with a fourth one waiting to be setup. Over the weekend, I set up the following software:
I've been pretty unwell over the past week, so wanted to productive on the weekend. I've been meaning to rebuild my Homelab for a while now, and I came across Komodo (komo.do) a server management tool that handles containers, which is exactly what I've been looking for.
I caught your talk at Middlesbrough Front End last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to hopefully catching you again in March!
Built a package to encourage type-safety in PHP, particularly for arrays, since PHP lacks native features. It also supports type-safe primitives like integers, strings, and booleans.
Feedback welcome π

The concept of a poppadom implies the existence of a poppasub.
What are some methods you wish Laravel Collections had?
Curious what boilerplates people are using to generate Laravel/PHP packages?
What's new technologies are people hoping to learn/try in 2025?
Iβd love to get involved! Iβll add it to my watchlist and keep an eye out for anything I can contribute to.
My handle is rayblair06.
