I'm a big fan of the #poetry by James Tate. He's opened my eyes to the beauty and fun of the prose poem. Just started reading his Essentials collection. Faves so far are Goodtime Jesus, The Promotion, and The Cowboy. Another half to go!

It was paying more & getting less in your neighborhood
It was getting the Phd, but still not getting hired
It was needing police for the police
It was building up a newspaper & having it burned (Wells)
It was building a school & having it shot up (JSU)
That comparison will be valid if the Nationals can get into the playoffs and win a championship or two over the next few years.

The 2025 Pulitzer Prizes were announced Monday afternoon. Percival Everett won the award for fiction for his novel James, a powerful re-imagination of Huckleberry Finn.
I enjoyed using Skype to put together two podcasts over the past 10 years. I'm not sure why it couldn't adapt to changing times, but it's too bad for an app with so much name recognition.

Watching the John Adams series again after about 15 years. It's a nice jolt for the values of liberty and freedom and the breaking away from a tyrant/king. Also, great performances by Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti. #HBO
