Got the boot off and x-rays look good!

Just learned that I can't drive (can't fully depress the clutch) and also I can walk substantially less than I could this morning in the boot with the crutches.

Recovery is a deeply frustrating process.

They're a local brand which is pretty cheap for what it is (semi-rural here and it's targeted for working breeds) so I suspect that they just have the one label that they use for everything 🤣

Matching up the feeding recs for the overlap size (small breed) it looks like it's near enough the same thing other than shape, so not going to be a problem for the 2-3 meals until I can fix it, but still quite funny.

Going to end up about a day short of dog food before I'm out of the walking boot and able to drive again, so asked my dog walker if he could pick up a small bag for me to cover the gap.

I've run Ubuntu laptops in the past; it's more inertia than anything else that I haven't changed my personal over.

I was just trying to remember what the old Windows curse was. Was it even-numbered versions? They thought that they could dodge it by skipping 9 straight to 10, but natural law will only be denied for so long.

Anyway I've been meaning to switch my old work laptop that they let me buy back to a Linux distro and just hadn't got around to it yet. Maybe a weekend project.

Microsoft making a load of weird decisions here, but requiring a chip that is new and in very few devices to run their new OS which adds a load of mandatory features that tend to turn the public off seems odd just from a pure business perspective.
