Wednesday will be the start of βWinds-daysβ ahead. Expect less rain and more wind into the weekend with the 70s and 80s temps in reach. 3/3/2026 #CAwx
Unfortunate timing w/ peak lunar eclipse at 3-4am & low clouds filling in. A bit more wind and warmer temps earlier in the night mightβve given us a chance (sigh) π a few areas, though above the low clouds may have a chance. 3/3/2026
Thereβs a total lunar eclipse tonight during the 3 AM hour, but the weather may be an issue. The next lunar eclipse comes up in August, but the next 100% total lunar eclipse wonβt arrive until 6/26/2029 so if youβre an astronomy fan, it may still be worth your time waking up to take a peek outside.
Visibility Outlook: still looking like weβll see low clouds ahead of sunrise (dark blue = low visibility/low clouds) but more recent model runs have shown less cloud cover vs previous runs during the 3 AM hour, letβs hope it continues ππ»ππ» π π

As the rain now just finally starts to move out of the North Bay this evening, the totals to the north are very impressive, note Mendocino County seeing 5"-7" totals in the last 24 hours, widespread 2"-4" for most of NW California as well. 2/24/2026
Weather 180: one week ago we had low snow levels and some of the coldest temperatures of the year, itβs a bit of the opposite this week. Spring-like temps and high rain rates at times up north have will our attention on Tuesday. 2/23/2026 #CAwx
Weather 180: last week saw the coldest temps of the year and low snow levels, this week looks like the opposite. Mild temps and high rain rates/high snow levels w/ the Tuesday storm could lead to runoff issues locally esp. North Bay, drier Wed-Fri. #CAwx 2/22/2026

The current stormy weather pattern is a perfect set up for a huge Sierra snowpack comeback, while also seeing low snow levels and hail producing storms locally as well. 2/17/2026 @nbcbayarea.com #BayArea #Sierra #SanFrancisco #Oakland #SanJose
Sign of things to come: snow near Mt. Hamilton approaching 4pm. We'll see even lower snow levels later tomorrow as colder air (& gusty wind) pours into the Bay Area with more rain at times. 2/16/2026
As our first storm winds down, a much colder and windier one line lines up for Tuesday. This will bring more rain at times and lowering snow levels to the Bay Area and a perfect set up for big snow across the Sierra. 2/16/2026 @nbcbayarea.com
Meanwhile over the Sierra: there's a near perfect setup for big snow: cold air support, ample moisture and strong WSW flow aloft = high winds and high snow rates expected to last much of Tuesday. Stay tuned #CAwx 2/16/2026
