The US government has the blood of an American citizen on its hands. Again.
ICE is out of control. I voted against the DHS funding bill that would allow ice to continue its terror unchecked.
The bottom line is that DHS & ICE should be focused on securing our borders & keeping hardened criminals out of our communities. Instead they are terrorizing our communities, while targeting hardworking people without regard for their constitutional rights and basic dignity.
I can't in good faith support a funding bill that fails to:
➡️force real change in ICE actions around the US
➡️establish enforceable guardrails around ICE activities going forward
➡️ensure real accountability for leadership w/in ICE & DHS
➡️reestablish proper Congressional oversight
ICE is out of control.
The House is scheduled to vote tomorrow on funding for the Department of Homeland Security, including ICE.

Last night, despite the opposition of Republican leadership, Congress PASSED legislation that extend ACA tax credits for three years and ensure millions of Americans aren't priced out of health insurance.
Now it's on to the Senate.
