*NEW TONIGHT*
One additional tornado confirmed in Lee County, Iowa from Tuesday Night. An EF1 north of Fort Madison. Max wind up to 100 mph over a mile long path. Some property damage to a roof and tree damage was noted.

1st (Likely pictured): EF1 #tornado SW of Donnellson 95-100mph estimated winds.
2nd: EF1 tornado winds around 90 mph near Wilson Lake Park east of Donnellson.

We're giving Thu afternoon through Fri morning a Weather Impact Alert for strong wind. Wind initially will build into the afternoon from the S/SW gusting 40-50 mph. Stronger wind is possible later, overnight with gusts 40-55 mph out of the NW. Strongest early Friday morning will be over north Iowa.

Decent little band of snow, turning mix/rain south/southwest moving east across Iowa. Look for some grassy accumulations and spotty impacts on the roads, mainly bridges and over culverts. Otherwise a lot of wet travel for the Wednesday morning drive.

This roof damage in Donnellson, Iowa was likely caused by a tornado as it move through Tuesday evening (3/9/26). Storm spotters reported tornadoes across Van Buren and Lee Counties, likely marking the first Iowa tornadoes of the year.

For my Minnesota following, Saturday snow has slowly been showing signs of shifting northwards. Most of this is now north of the Iowa border. Looks like a swath of 1-4" cutting through from western Minnesota to southeast Minnesota. Best chances of accumulation are north of US 14.
