I can imagine a person who learned about the Court mainly through Brown, Miranda, and Roe and thinks the main role of the Court is to protect unpopular/historically oppressed groups. Obergefell would be in line with that and give those people more confidence in the Court.

It also ignores how crazy it would look for me, someone who lives in the urban core, to go out to a suburb (which I am not a resident of) and give my suggestions

If the fans really want Taylor to be a tortured artist they should actually be encouraging her to watch more sports, not less.

I’m curious if this is going at the Fed exception SCOTUS put in a few months ago in the NLRB board removal case, or if it’s a β€œfor-cause” firing based on the renovation

As a student I can also tell you many of us didn’t realize how early this stuff was happening either. Almost everyone I know who has been able to navigate this stuff has some sort of family/friend connection to BigLaw. Some of us are barely treading water πŸ™ƒ

I don’t know what β€œplanned partnership” means (seems like he’s just pretending this isn’t a merger?). I’m not holding out hope that this will end well, but for the sake of city I hope it works out

JUST IN: Pittsburgh voters have approved a ballot that bans the city from privatizing the local water and sewers system.

The measure passed by a very large margin.

The NYT & NBC are already framing it that way. If O’Connor governs how he campaigned though he will unequivocally be a progressive mayor. Outside of housing/development & maybe attitude towards the non-profits I don’t really think there was much of a difference. This election wasn’t ideological

Do we know anything about the outstanding precincts? On the county website I’m seeing Gainey netting ~400 votes from Election Day voting. Are the reported precincts more O’Connor friendly?

The Steel City is growing more than any city in Pennsylvania Pittsburgh reversed years of decline with the biggest gain in Pennsylvania.

Pittsburgh added 4,708 residents between 2020 and 2024, the largest numeric increase of any Pennsylvania municipality during that stretch. I repeat, the most new residents of any city in PA! www.axios.com/local/pittsb...
