Appreciate the engagement. The current feature list is the things you listed: sentiment analysis (weather icon) and the re-write is intended to help coach people on framing, and when you reply, it takes into consideration the context of the thread.

Some social platforms are moving away from proactively moderating hate speech, which disproportionately impacts historically marginalized communities. We know this can lead those targeted to opt out, which means we lose their participation & insights in public discourse. Civil discourse= more voices

Your definition is correct. The reason we invest in tools like this is to reduce toxicity that ultimately drive meaningful dialog off platforms, and often impacts marginalize communities.

Policing would imply enforcement. This is optional for those who want to use it. And it’s a research project, not a company, so the feedback is welcomed.

Grateful that folks are identifying and calling out where the tone and sentiment classifier is falling short and reinforcing existing racial and social bias. We are making notes of the screen shots you have shared and will aim to pass this along to Google’s Jigsaw team that makes the API.

The current structure does try and take the thread context into account but we could make the rewrite suggestions show up next to the original text as a suggestion.
