In an episcopal archive, I asked for the next volume in a series, only to be told no by an elderly nun. When I asked why, she said, “It’s very high up, and I’m afraid to climb the ladder.” She would, however, let me climb, which is how I found out those codices were stored in the (very leaky) attic.
I’m so sorry to hear you’re struggling. Remember that your brain is doing the hard work of grieving, and it’s only been a short while. I’m so sorry you joined this club, but I can promise it gets better. It’s okay to give yourself grace when you need it.
