My favorite part of Don't Look Up is where the CEO argues that his company mining the planet-killing asteroid for it's minerals would 'end all poverty and injustice'. Very similar to some of those AI claims.
Such a way of thinking is either extremely naïve, or (much more likely) extremely malicious.

...and the terms were fair. We've seen some crazy proposals from some publishers D:
The agent did most of the reach-out (email and IRL).The whole ordeal took almost a year I think, but we wanted to make sure we had some options to choose from. We signed with our publisher because we felt they understood our game and would really act as a partner.
Cool, not needing a publisher it is the best position to be in for talking to publishers :)What we did was make a list of 20-30 publishers or so that we were interested in. We hired an agent (GYLD, no cure no pay) to help us prepare pitch decks and numbers and reach out and do contract negotiations!
