Yes. Add in a thousand edge cases and you start to approach the functionality you’re trying to replace.

As the Indian off-shoring craze eventually did. Problem is, there’s a new generation of MBAs in charge who do not remember the mistakes of 20 years ago. The worm turns.

This is going to be the whole McKinsey-consultant-led β€œoff-shore your engineering to India” craze all over again. β€œYou can lower your costs by 80% and get hyper-productive CMM level 5 teams immediately!” It’s wild. And I do believe that good people will get laid off while the craze burns itself out.

I have to say, though, that I’ve seen C-suite execs go ga-ga over a Claude Code flask server running on localhost. They think, β€œWow, I can have a complete prototype of a concept in 5 minutes, think of what I can have in 3 months.” So, they launch a tiger-team to rebuild their whole tech-stack.

No good deed goes unpunished. A perennial truth.

God, I hate this fucking administration. I just can’t understand how even 35% of the population can support it.

Kinda shocking that the GOP can be up 500K in the governor’s race but down 200K in the senate race. Scratching my head. Which electorate is going to show up.

Holy Toledo. We are the only country on that list that, on balance, thinks its countrymen are bad people.

Joe Biden never made the case to Congress that Iran is an imminent threat to the United States. Why should President Trump have to?

I’ve temporarily abandoned my drunken butterfly ways and vowed to finish a game. But it’s hard to get motivated for the β€œvictory executed in excruciating detail.” Which is basically every Paradox game, really.

I feel that. Right now, I have over 2000 hours in Stellaris, but not a single completed game. B/c I start the largest possible game field and max opponents because I love the variety. Eventually, I’m managing an empire so huge (and I’ve basically already) won that I just don’t grind it out. 🀣

This guy. β€œWe actually won the game if it wasn’t for the 4th quarter. Or the third. Or even the second, really. But we were so strong and it was affirming that we could move the ball. So, overall, we won strongly. The 42-0 score was just wrong and we are going to appeal.”

Very cool. I definitely understand the appreciation of a nice day. By way of comparison, the Pacific Northwest gives you nine months of gloom, roughly double the amount of rain that London gets… and then a summer so perfect you forget the trauma.

And, most importantly, simply don’t care.

So, I guess we can’t let other countries have ballistic missiles either. That’s a lot of people to get to this administration…

Fun fact: Donald Trump has attacked three countries since winning the coveted soccer (er… football) peace prize, averaging out to an attack just under every 4 weeks. That’s 3 wars ended already since the award! 🫠
