This is going to be the whole McKinsey-consultant-led “off-shore your engineering to India” craze all over again. “You can lower your costs by 80% and get hyper-productive CMM level 5 teams immediately!” It’s wild. And I do believe that good people will get laid off while the craze burns itself out.

I have to say, though, that I’ve seen C-suite execs go ga-ga over a Claude Code flask server running on localhost. They think, “Wow, I can have a complete prototype of a concept in 5 minutes, think of what I can have in 3 months.” So, they launch a tiger-team to rebuild their whole tech-stack.

I’ve temporarily abandoned my drunken butterfly ways and vowed to finish a game. But it’s hard to get motivated for the “victory executed in excruciating detail.” Which is basically every Paradox game, really.

I feel that. Right now, I have over 2000 hours in Stellaris, but not a single completed game. B/c I start the largest possible game field and max opponents because I love the variety. Eventually, I’m managing an empire so huge (and I’ve basically already) won that I just don’t grind it out. 🤣

Very cool. I definitely understand the appreciation of a nice day. By way of comparison, the Pacific Northwest gives you nine months of gloom, roughly double the amount of rain that London gets… and then a summer so perfect you forget the trauma.
