I have received 3 texts (so far) from Roy Cooper asking for a donation. While I'm glad that he is starting his campaign, I get annoyed by so many out of state requests from the Dems. Also, if the request for money does not go through Act Blue, I never donate.

As disgusting as this law is, it is even more disgusting that our state legislators waste their time on such matters. I hate that our tax dollars pay their (not insubstantial) salaries.

With the midterms looming, this will be an opportunity for Congress to assert itself as a legit supporter of We The People. Of course, Trump will ignore any resistance to his whims, but we really need that third branch of government.
We need to pass a House rule or law that requires them to work a certain number of days to get paid. Since Mike Johnson took over these people hardly ever work. When they finally come back after weeks off they work 2 days and he sends them home for 2 more weeks. It’s ridiculous.
Just a random reminder that over 50 members of Congress collectively own millions of dollars in defense contractor stocks.
They stand to personally profit from wars that enrich these contractors.
Make no mistake, this is legalized corruption.
