๐จ AI's Acceleration Paradox
The AI industry's acceleration narrative ignores basic facts about the human body, the human mind, human behavior, and human societies.
It might drag us to a dystopian future.

๐จ Unpopular opinion:
The premises behind this bill are correct (increase the accountability of AI companies, support AI liability, protect people).
The execution is wrong (it shouldn't ban but demand strict guardrails for regulated areas).

๐จ BREAKING: Dario Amodei apologizes.
"Anthropic has much more in common with the Department of War than we have differences."
๐จ The Pentagon has officially designated Anthropic and its AI products a "supply-chain risk."
It's the first time in U.S. history that an American company receives that designation. ๐ฑ
AI might be inevitable at this point, but the way we govern it is a conscious collective choice.
We must exercise this choice.

๐จ BREAKING: Anthropic is back in talks with the Pentagon
"Amodei told the audience that Anthropic is still talking to the Pentagon 'to try to de-escalate the situation and come to some agreement that works for us and works for them.'"
Was it all PR?
"Meta's smart glasses have been unknowingly recording people getting undressed, sitting on the toilet and even having sex - with the resulting footage then reviewed by data workers thousands of miles away."

๐จ BREAKING: AI-generated art CAN'T be copyrighted in the United States:
I don't think the human brain and body are ready for so much AI-powered 'acceleration.'
Life is short, and what we really crave is connection, belonging, meaning.
We might decide to reject all this productivity and look for the slow, analog, and meaningful.
I really think so.

๐จ Over the past 48 hours, we saw a dramatic dispute between Anthropic and the U.S. Department of War unfold.
What most people have not realized is that the high visibility of this quarrel is a symptom of a much broader AI governance challenge.

Future generations will not know how to learn or interact with the world without AI assistance.
This is clearly going to negatively impact our cognitive performance, individually and collectively.
The next step will be hyping Neuralink-like brain-machine interfaces.
Etc...

๐จ The past few weeks have made it clear that AI faces a major PUBLIC TRUST problem.
In a year when the field must prove, once and for all, that it is not a bubble and can drive meaningful economic growth, this could be fatal.

2050: Couples didn't meet as people were dating their AI chatbots.
