Thank you. It's been hard work, but very satisfying.

On #OnePlaceWednesday I'm delighted to announce that my #OnePlaceStudies book, 150 Years of Graveney Primary School, is finally published. All pre-orders dispatched and first talk booked.
A quick #OnePlaceWednesday read for you on our blog, from @wendytm.bsky.social Wendy Tait Mayfield: #OnePlaceStudy Enhances Family Tree.
This #OnePlaceWednesday I've been considering a new #OnePlaceStudies on #WestCramlingtonColliery . Has any else used a #NorthEastColliery for your study? I'd love to know how you got on please. Thanks.
Spending #OnePlaceWednesday on a final proof read of "150 Years of Graveney Primary School" before it goes off to be published. Surprised at the level of anxiety this is causing. ๐ฌ

The 6th series of A House Through Time is back on BBC2 soon featuring stories of the residents of a house on Calton Hill, Edinburgh that dates from 1765.
The remains of the Temple of Antenociticus at Benwell in Newcastle. The temple was part of the vicus attached to the Roman fort of Condercum on Hadrianโs Wall. The temple is the only known shrine to Antenociticus. ๐ธ My own. #RomanSiteSaturday #RomanBritain #Antenociticus
Two wartime pupils return to Graveney School, my ##OnePlaceStudies for #OnePlaceWednesday. Their oral histories were vital to the research for my book, Celebrating 150 Years of Graveney School. ##GraveneyGoodnestone
Celebrating #OnePlaceWednesday by completing the first draft of my book on the history of #GraveneyGoodnestone school. Started as a booklet to commemorate 150 years and became 45000 words. ๐ Now need to get it reviewed.
Really enjoyed giving a talk for the 150th anniversary celebrations of Graveney School at the church last night. So many new schools were built following the 1870 Elementary Education Act, it makes a great theme for #OnePlaceWednesday. #GraveneyGoodnestone
Might be worth contacting the National Fruit Collection at brogdalecollections.org/seasonal-fru.... Their talks include information on the history of fruit, so they may have relevant publications.
Thank you. That's very interesting. The school said that they didn't have any information on copyright or on who commissioned the photos. As far as I can tell from the school management committee minutes, it wasn't them. So I just have the County Education Committee to check now.
Still working on trying to identify the actual photographers.
Unfortunately, I've been unable to identify the actual photographer for any of the pictures. I suspect that they may well have died over 70 years ago, especially the earliest. More research needed I think.
Thank you. After a quick look through the guidance, I agree completely. It is awful. So disappointing that it is so difficult, especially as the book is being published as "not for profit".
#OnePlaceWednesday people, I am seeking some guidance please. The first draft of my #GraveneyGoodnestone school history is nearly complete. I have school photos from 1913 to 1938 but the photographer is no longer in business. How do I find copyright owner please? The book needs pictures.
Just 7 weeks to go to the #HawickReivers Festival, commemorating the turbulent 16th century history of the English/Scottish border country, where loyalty and allegiance was to family and surname before King or County.
Recently I have carried out a great deal of work on restructuring the Long, Long Trail, moving it towards a more thematic structure. It should prove to be friendlier for family historians, in particular... #genealogy #ww1 www.longlongtrail.co.uk/first-launch...
On this #OnePlaceWednesday I am trying to track down image owners to request copyright permission. It can be a long, drawn out process, but has to done.
So, in the meantime here is one of my own of #GraveneyGoodnestone. My favourite place to play as a child.

Coming this Wednesday... A guest blog written by the amazing @wendytm.bsky.social
Here is a teaser to get you excited!
Is there one location where your ancestors settled for multiple generations? Were they landowners or holders of an important position...
#Genealogy
James Frederick Elgar Rigden was born into a large Kent seafaring family. As a member of the #FranklinExpedition he served as Captain's Coxswain on board #HMSErebus. He was lost with all of the crew, and has no known grave. He married but had no children and his name lived on through his nephew
I've spent the past few days looking at this for my #OneNameStudy. It is quite common as the surname is very localised in small area in Kent. Generally, I have found that they were distantly related, but were probably unaware of the relationship, given how distant it was.

Thanks to the 1,600 people and organisations who responded to the UK Ministry of Justiceโs proposals on the retention of wills. Good news: The UK Government has determined not to proceed with any reforms that involve the destruction of original wills

Very true. So many family secrets uncovered but never told. But I have bequeathed them to a selected family member in my will. The responsibility to decide when and if to reveal them will then become his.
