Irma Vep (1996), Near Dark (1987), Only Lovers Left Alive (2013), Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
Oops all vampires top 4 in honor of Nosferatu month. Yes, it was painful to choose just 4.
I promise I’m going to start logging some movies I actually like on letterboxd soon. Holding myself accountable 🫡
IN DEL TORO WE TRUST 🙏
People really need to be watching Interior Chinatown. As a longtime fan of Charles Yu this adaptation is everything I could have hoped for. It’s weird & hilarious & touching. Please everybody watch so it gets the love it deserves
I posted reviews on TikTok & letterboxd ♥️
Someone said it was crazy for me to complain about the color grading because Elphaba is “literally green” lol
Wait is that happening now?? Stay safe ♥️
I don’t know why the concept of letterboxd is so confusing to some people
Beautiful piece about a series that means so much to me. I always love seeing love for Station Eleven ♥️
I almost just quoted this lol so glad you get me
I do agree the gowns are beautiful!
It’s fun! Songs are good. Performances even more so. Everything else ehhh
Might as well disappoint everyone on here too, I didn’t love Wicked. Sorry
I just will never understand why people want this. It’s so ironic to me that “live action” adaptations (that are typically bloated with gratuitous cgi) are sold as a more elevated or serious version just because they aren’t animated. They offer nothing new & always look considerably worse
I watched the first Gladiator for the first time and it kept getting wildly distracted because the score is nearly identical to Pirates of the Caribbean’s
Alright I need a pre award season temp check - what film do you think is a shoo in for a best picture nom?
No I’m into this
Well you were spot on! I hope when it finally hits streaming it gets so much love! ♥️
Claira, your approval is the only thing that matters 🙏
It’s truly incredible. One of the only films I saw this year that immediately struck me as a worthy best picture contender & it’s criminal that the rollout was so thoroughly botched
4 films from 2024 that deserve more attention
A treasured comedian known for being a loveable goof instead of a mean spirited cynic?? Did the academy finally start reading my emails?
bald ann dowd
Your voice matters so much in this space. I’m so glad you’re here even though I know it’s unbearable sometimes ♥️
Oof big same
Just saw Nosferatu & holy shit. What an incredible feat of artistry. A film that celebrates the history of everything cinema has been & is capable of becoming. A pitch black nightmare of a love story that is equal parts vile, horrifying, romantic & erotic. A gothic masterpiece. I loved every second
Using my government name on here but don’t be alarmed. It is I, stoobs.
