Drafting/ revising a bit as I go. Labeling several sections to move to a 'parking lot' doc later.

Honeybee

Honeybee

There may still be a foot of snow here, but the world from winter slumber wakes!
This beautiful honeybee came out for a cleansing flight. Warmed my heart!

Ah, February. You are full on contradiction!

Me drafting: Ooh! That's brilliant.
Also me: What is this smoldering dump heap?

I can fix it on revision.

Researching agents to query is a bit like going down the rabbit hole.
I spend hours, and I know agents spend hours sifting through our submissions.
Someone, somewhere will find a match!
Happy Querying!

Just bailed on a book because the child’s voice was too adult. Folks, child narrators, even in adult fiction, need to sound like children. Otherwise you lose your audience.

Started the day with a beautiful rejection letter. This agent took the time to acknowledge me. The agent did state that it was a form letter, but it did not feel like one.
Good rejections encourage.
Keep at it, folks!

I am 'mature' in regards to the query trench. I send only when I know my story and I are a true fit for the agent. Successful? No. But neither was querying everyone.
I am a published author.
My work is good.
No need to rush.

Literally buying one copy of a book at your local indie bookstore can mean the difference in whether they buy future books from that author.
