My grandparents are in assisted living paid for by my parents because for some reason they didn’t have an actual retirement plan. Now my parents pay $12k a month for a unit in memory care and a unit in regular assisted living. My grandpa says it’s my mom’s responsibility.
People love to ask who’s going to take care of childless adults when they get old but your children are not a retirement plan. Acting like being childfree is selfish and expecting your children to be your caretaker isn’t
