I fear the stress of how much our ATC professionals have been chronically overworked is beginning to show. It is beyond time for the FAA to act and finally make meaningful changes to the staffing levels in facilities across the country.

I’ve never been impressed with space twitter’s attempts at making a bad rocket do cool stuff. There’s a reason all successful heavy lift rockets are expendable, it’s not pretty, but it works.

I always give my little guppy too short of a leash, every time I try and get her configured a little early so we can slow, or try to get ahead of a VNAV Path, or just try to cover off Boeing’s weirdness she’s like “girrrrrl! I got dis.”

Just a casual reminder that aviation accidents are the lowest this year than they’ve ever been since the NTSB began tracking the data.

Are we surprised though? Disappointed? Yes, but surprised?

So yesterday, I diverted for a mechanical irregularity. What’s that, you’d like me to expand? Ok well all the toilets quit working an hour in to a 3 1/2 hour flight. 🤣

Good context: There have been 13 fatal aviation accidents so far in 2025, per NTSB. There were 31 by about this time in 2024, and 28 in 2023.

This is only a measure of incidents, not fatalities — but good to keep in mind when it seems like the planes are falling from the sky.

Every time my co pilot calls it the Gulf of America I’m gonna loudly double check the Notices to Air Missions.
