That’s true, to a certain extent, but he also wanted to raise rates in 08 when Bush was still president. He was just persistently wrong about everything.

Hack. I think he just wants the big, important job, and he used to think being an inflation hawk was the way to get it, but now he knows it’s just about sucking up to Trump.

In that sense, Warsh is like everyone else in the Trump administration: either an unqualified hack, nut job, or white nationalist who couldn’t get within miles of one of these jobs from anyone but Trump, and knows it. Their unsuitability guarantees loyalty.

Warsh wouldn’t be getting the job, though, if he hadn’t convinced Trump that he would do Trump’s bidding…

I think that was Warsh just politicking for the job and saying what he thought Trump wanted to hear. Which raises the possibility that Warsh is willing to be a total lackey to get the job he so clearly covets.

It’s genuinely weird that Trump seems to like Warsh so much.

Warsh was a delusional inflation hawk who wanted to raise rates to fight imaginary inflation in the midst of very real, double-digit unemployment. That’s … not what Trump wants out of a Fed Chair.

Back in 2017, I explained what a disastrous pick Kevin Warsh would be as Fed Chair.

He was perhaps the worst & most wrong Fed Governor we’ve ever had when he was there during the financial crisis, & learned nothing from it either.

The characteristics that make a good Fed Chair — honesty, integrity, objectivity, humility, being a sharp reader of the data, collaboration, transparency, thoughtful communication — are all things Trump doesn’t like.

“We’ll keep murdering you if you keep calling us murderers, so you need to tone down the rhetoric” is the position of the supposedly less extreme ICE leader.

An entire community of thousands, here legally, having been demonized with deranged lies about eating pets, is about to be arbitrarily DECLARED illegal so they can be forcibly ethnically cleansed. I don’t want to hear one more fucking word about comparisons to Nazi Germany being overwrought.

Taxpayers have a right to know whose salary we are paying. ICE can either wear masks or they can get paid, but it can’t be both.
