Star Trek: Strange New Worlds might be my new all-time favorite iteration of the franchise. New season starts tomorrow, so we are finishing S2 today. And there is just so much good that they’ve done with these characters, some I’ve known my whole life but who have now grown in such unexpected ways.

Superman Isn’t Trying to Be Political. We Just Have Real-Life Supervillains Now.
What a headline.
I loved the feelings I got from this film. I cried multiple times. And it was just. So. Good.
But this does. Blending elements from multiple eras, it creates a version of Superman that is both its own thing and feels true to the mythos and franchise as a whole. And since it’s not an origin story, it could be described as feeling like a sequel to the Superman franchise as a whole.
If you know me, you know I love deeply the last two Superman movies we got. But I’ll readily admit that they were a different kind of Superman story and didn’t necessarily feel like the kind of Superman story most people would expect most of the time.
The “feels like” factor is strong with the Superman film. It feels like Superman and it feels like a Superman story.
From The Flash 218. Certain people have always hated immigrants and always will. And the very idea that the Superman film might call out that attitude in a bad way infuriates some people cuz they hate seeing that mirror on their bigotry.
