Yes but it does feel like the most plausible possibility for these pecks of peppers to be pickled and picked by Peter piper as in selected. I agree it is a little fetched but they certainly weren’t growing pickled peppers so not sure what other situation we can assume
Okay but imagine many peppers were harvested and pickled by the peck. And maybe the basement had many pecks of -now pickled- peppers to choose from. Peter went and chose which batch he wanted, therefore picking a peck of pickled peppers
