Safe Harbor is not a protection after the fact and must be claimed before notification of testing.

Federal employees that began their career as seasonal or temporary employees are not able to contribute the requisite number of years to draw full retirement benefits after 30 years of service.

The Federal Retirement Fairness Act would allow former seasonal and temporary federal employees to "buy-back" retirement contributions in order to retire after 30 years of service.

Forest Service Council President (acting)
I want to thank everyone that was able to make it to W3 in the
last couple months and especially to our training committee and
instructors who put so much effort into refreshing the content and holding these
meaningful trainings.

Also a shout out to our council and committee chair members that took time away
from their families to really put in some effort planning ahead for the next two years of
our work. Hopefully, everyone traveled home safely.

And lastly, I want us all to remember what we made it through this time last year: The
Valentine's Day massacre. We came together stronger than we ever have with many of
our union leaders really stepping up and putting a lot of time and effort into saving
thousands of employees' jobs. Many of whom got reinstated because of the work of some of our newest union leaders. That's what unions are all about; recognizing what we can do collectively for each other and pitching in.

I hope you enjoyed the double holiday weekend
and come back ready to continue to hold the line.
