While trying to run EU-first and coming from the ease of US-services it has been a fine journey so far. Running a SaaS, via hetzner unlocked new opportunities. A bit more work, but a lot more in control. Running an Umami server that now replaced tracking for all my projects, without extra payment.

Having my first project up and running. Postgress databse, Next.js application. Required a bit of a mental model change coming from Vercel, but works great now on Hetzner with Coolify

Hetzner and Coolify are a solid combo.
Must admit I am so used to Vercel/Netlify I had to read a bit into Hetzner, what VPS to take and the overwhelming amount of information.

Isn’t that also the power of gzip? Repetition compounds in some sort of way? So on a smaller scale it does not compound as hard, resulting in roughly the same size in some cases?

You don’t setup a worker? Which is recommendeded for production use. How is the ram usage? I’ve setup the backend and a worker, the hobbyplan is not even sufficient in idle for a couple of day as the ram usage surges to 3gb. What is your trick?
