I’m a LA based Climber, lover of cameras, diver, always failing surfer and Geologist by profession. I love to read - fiction - essays - poetry - philosophy. And if I’m not exploring the planet, taking photos , I’m playing Mass Effect for the 100th time.
I used to rent the 70-200mm f/2.8 for weddings, I’m just not interested in carrying a lens that large around (EVER). The 70-200 f/4 does feel that much smaller, but I believe it retains the internal zoom, which is great for photography, keep dust and shit out.
Of course the most superb version is really the 28-300L
In my recollection, it was significantly lighter than the F2.8 version. I’ve used both and I owned the F4 version for a long time, I myself would buy the F4 version again, the F2.8 version is way too bulky and massive for my taste.
I took the Yashica Samurai to the beach - love shooting half-frame diptychs! Kentmere 400 developed in Rodinal 1+25 #photography
Sounds like a job for a 70-200mm, that gives you options. Canon makes the f/4 version which is affordable and fantastic and uses these days goes for very little $$ compared tot the f/2.8, which you don’t really need for landscape work.
Evening shots! Early morning shots there were weird because the lights coming from the east, not the Oceanside

Aperture priority 100% for me, I almost never want shutter priority, and fully manual is fucking boring, but I’ll do it if I have no choice.
Some kids want to be wet….😂
So it’s just some old long stored FP4? Either way FP4 is such a beautiful film.
I don’t normally jump on cultural bandwagons, normally that stuff turns me off. But I also like to be honest and make my own opinion of things. If you love cinema, I think this film deserves being watched on the big screen with a crowd of people. I’m gonna say it deserves a 10/5 score. #sinners
I think it pushes really well, I mean Delta is an amazing film as well, you can’t go wrong either way! I find Kentmere to be a perfect price point especially to buy a 100 feet
These days, I generally prefer kentmere 400 as an all-around shooter film.
Toy camera mode activated!! #photography
Probably should have had a 35mm prime instead of 50 for this, but I didn’t. Hard to roux the mp240 in low light without the evf. #photography
I’ve taken this exact photo hundreds of times in my life, I hope I’m around to take it hundreds of more times. It means I’m at the right place doing the right thing. #photography.
Yeah, but let’s be honest, it’s just gonna be another footnote in the history books assuming we have them in the future, of things that dis administration totally blew off and didn’t give a shit about and nobody actually did anything. we’re past the point where these guys care
It’s hilarious how canon still makes that exact same camera😂😂.
Adrienne got a new toy. @michael-elliott.photography - look familiar?? 😂
Back at the creek!!
Did some solo
Climbing in Malibu tonight, excellent after work meditation.
Yep, they’re not gonna let it fail, all the while they’re going to claim something about free markets.

It’s fucking insane…… absolutely fucking insane that they would get anything except for a kick in the ass out of the fucking door.
Been climbing with these two for well over a decade now, always a pleasure to adventure with them. #photography #rockclimbing #malibucreekstatepark
what do you expect from a racist, misogynistic shit fucking business like B&H? Look up their history of lawsuits, what they've been sued for and what they've lost or conceded and then ask why you are still a customer.
climbing in MCSP yesterday. Always a blast. #photography
