previously unchecked and unmedicated ADHD. But I’ve gotten in trouble at work so many times at this point that I jump anxiously at any Teams message or email or meeting, because no number I hit satisfies the KPI reports.
I hate to complain, because I’m grateful to have a job. It makes sure my bills are paid, for the most part. It makes ends meet so I can put money into my art business and work on the foundation of it.
And I think that’s part of what makes going back to my day job so crushing - because I go from a place where everyone is excited to see me, where we laugh and have fun and work hard together, and talk ourselves hoarse with all the lovely folks who come by, back to…well. Corporate hell.
Like…I want this to be my job, I want to do art and see all your faces and get to interact with everyone! I love vending, and I love making art, and it makes me so happy to spend weekends with everyone, sharing in that love of art!
But I swear it gets harder and harder to wake up and clock in when the job itself makes me feel so exhausted, unappreciated, and constantly like I’m not doing enough. I hit a point of burnout so bad last year that I had to finally contact a therapist. And I’m finally working through my rampant,
