Pretty neat idea! Yoshi can shoot basketballs now lol.

TEV shader node is (mostly) done! Thanks to that I could test some cool effects in Blender to see how it would translate into Melee.
This dark orb uses a combination of Color TEV, Alpha TEV, and vertex colors with an inverted hull. It's a little more vibrant in Blender, but the effect looks great!
I can combine this with my specular shader as well! The TEV node is not finished yet, but it's very promising!
With the specular shader, and now the TEV color mixer, I'll soon have the best way to create and render models for Melee within Blender.
:D
Last night I've been wondering if I could implement the GameCube's TEV color mixer unit into Blender. After some research, I was able to make a shader node that replicates its effects.
Really powerful stuff, and very useful for Melee modding!
Trophy collection room: All of the trophies have turned into question marks due to a bug in developing for The Akaneia Build.
Oops! All "?" trophies... ๐ญ
Still, this was a neat experiment! I may expand upon it if I ever get my laptop fixed to create it in newer versions of Blender.
The only use cases I have thought of for this are video production (which I have no clue how viable it may be compared to other easily-accessible media) or as an option to visualize them in Slippi Replays within Blender, but I feel a gecko code in its playback player would be much easier than this.
That's pretty cool! However, the Melee community already has pictures and in-game gifs of the attacks from forum posts or sites. There's also HSDraw if you wanted to make new ones to show moves from different angles with or without interpolation, so people would use those instead since it's easier.
After about an hour of tinkering I was able to fake hitbox interpolation to a certain extent. Probably not worth it, but it's still cool.
No hitbox interpolation tho. Wish I could do something for that. ๐
Last night I was curious about replicating Hurtbox and Hitbox data from Melee into Blender. It may not be exactly 1:1, but it was fun figuring stuff out!
I wonder if this could be useful for anything... ๐ค
NOTE: I'm using Blender 2.79 because my temporary PC can't run anything newer.
Post-release I can definitely consider sharing some in-dev stuff, but ofc not everything. Dev blogs on content that's already been released is something I can consider doing.
These are good options to consider!
Option 1 would likely be handled by the Akaneia Build BSky page once it's ready. They've been doing that for a long time.
Options 2 and 3 sound fun! I would have to obfuscate the new fighters' names, but I could look into in-dev stuff from released fighters.
I want to make a weekly or bi-weekly dev log for The Akaneia Build. Sadly, this wouldn't be fun to read since I can't share any future content.
It'd just be "Worked on [REDACTED]'s balancing. Their Neutral Special is not wack anymore."
Can't even post pictures... Would it even be worth it? ๐ญ
If you're here after my recent post on Twitter, this is where I'll be posting things from now on. The Akaneia Build's account is still on Twitter, but I'll see if I can get a new account created here so I can repost their stuff.
I did this for the Sonic reveal on a whim and it attracted a lot of people to the voice chat channel to watch the trailer live. It was fun interacting with everyone and seeing their reactions to the reveals! I would definitely do it again for this next one!
I don't know if it would be called 0.93. It's just what number would be next after 0.92. I'm basically guessing.
Challenger Approaching icon from Super Smash Bros. Melee
Being real, it's coming when it's ready. I can't reveal a single thing about it, so no previews! Sorry! Also, I don't want to ruin the surprise!
But the day the m-ex Discord server's icon turns into this, you'll know it's coming.

I've been saying that the next Akaneia Build update is coming for so long that I'm afraid that I'm becoming like this guy's depiction from South Park.
"Don't worry! Akaneia Build 0.93 is on its way! Really!"

When I have free time from irl stuff and such, I sometimes practice rigging models over other Melee characters. I haven't been able to work on this one for a bit, but one day I'll be able to release it.

Moving in. Feels weird being in a new place...
Anyways, I mod Super Smash Bros. Melee! I make stages, character balancing, and contributed to many projects such as The Akaneia Build, Turbo DX, Melee's CSProject, and more!
I might post here on certain occasions, so not all the time.
