It’s that one weird stretch from that 15 Ave cycle track 🤷♂️
Know*
Don’t quite why that one stretch has been so consistently crap
Snow mountain in the NE corner of 15 Ave and Macleod
Sure hope no one uses a wheelchair or bike in the active mobility lanes 🤷♂️ #yycbike
I’ve been told it moves. Slowly
I take it back, this is a pretty crap effort by the city #yycbike
View north from The Bow in Calgary
Looking pretty good… enjoy before the next spring storm hits tonight ❄️ #yycbike
Dude has a permanent I-need-to-speak-to-the-manager face... no wonder he had that absurd stache for so long
Fiat Multipla
How about a box ON TOP of a box?
We've spent too much time in Europe/Malta 🤣
And thanks for the reminder… knew I was missing a consonant in there 😜
Well look at that, a handy history lesson www.mtlblog.com/montreal/why...
Yeah, I remember the Island of Montreal rule there, it's pretty longstanding (and understandable, seeing as a lot of the older buildings come right up to the corner, limiting visibility)... not sure of the history of the reg there
(usually I just punch one or more and grumble)
Oh, oh! Noticed a new thing, haven't tried it out on other beg buttons: if you press and hold the one at Macleod and 42 (NE corner), it actually tells you what direction you're walking in.
I hate beg buttons like nothing else, but the city could have some real fun with this!
Dumbest rule ... for all road users
WRT to transport, I would assume they have to follow the provincial rules, which allow for ROR. Otherwise I would assume they'd need to upgrade signals with those little arrows on red lights.
every second dog bite story I hear is of some jerk who lets their dog run wild or get in another dog's personal space and then chaos ensues.
Really getting to the point where I think all off-leash areas should be fenced, too many stories...
* notable exception being full stops at stop signs, that's a stupid rule that makes some sense for cars but makes zero since for bikes (AND a pain for drivers i.e. me starting from 0 is gonna really, really annoy you and me).
Yup... same logic as cyclists...
I really don't like it when drivers break the rules, but I really hate it when a cyclist (and especially those e-motos) is behaving like an asshole: really makes us all look bad, which, I get it, is annoying and unfair, but still...*
Oh, more an opportunity to improve that dreadful section... if I see a new pathway with poplars put in next to it, there gonna be some words 😆
Don't blame you... that section of pathway from the Bird Sanctuary to Ogden is tough to clear at the best of times, the larches have done their work, so you can't just use a Bobcat unless you brush after.
Same for left-hand turns: ALL of them should have a dedicated light, where a light exists. Easily the most dangerous driving manoeuvre.
Yeah, getting ridiculous. I doubt they’ll get the province on board, the alternative would be a costly signalling system upgrade if the city wanted to go it alone.
More then anything it would just get drivers to think about what they’re doing, particularly when executing a more dangerous manoeuvre.
Special ban-ROR reel… dude blows past not one, but two red lights. Wonder why pedestrians are getting hit? Wonder no more…
Cause… and effect. Make sure you wear that mouth guard, EV crews finally getting around to it this morning —and it shows #yycbike
Oh yeah, bad owners > bad dogs. This is probably a regular thing.
My little one got bitten by a neighbor dog a few years back and the owner was completely indifferent. Steer clear, little one.
What an asshole
Right on the edge… ugh. Certainly hope he/she came right away
Assume it wasn’t remotely near an off leash park? Seeing a lot of that lately. We’re living in a society, people
