Take Action Now: Call Mayor Frey and tell him to support Pause Evictions, Save Lives passed by the city council on 3/5/2026. Mayor Frey: 612-673-2100 Sample Script: "I am calling to ask Mayor Frey to commit to supporting an extension of the pre-eviction notice period from 30 to 60 days. Countless neighbors are at immediate risk of displacement and this measure is the bare minimum the City can do to protect our neighbors. Can I count on his support?"
Today, the Mpls City Council passed the Pause Evictions, Save Lives ordinance, which would extend the pre-eviction notice period from 30 to 60 days.
Take action now and call Mayor Frey (612-673-2100) and tell him to stand with our neighbors and extend the pre-eviction filing period.

I'm on the admin team of a hyperlocal mutual aid group. Today someone DM'ed me with a very complex/challenging question & asked "is this in your wheelhouse?"
Me: "Oh, definitely not. But almost nothing I've been doing for the last 3 months is. Let's figure this out."

So much of mutual aid work is just having the mindset that you'll do your best to try to help whatever comes your way.
That can mean looking for people who actually know something about the issue, making connections, Googling, etc.

Most people in this country don’t actually know how bad the homelessness crisis actually is. And yet, our government is choosing to spend billions on an illegal war while cutting SNAP and Medicaid. This crisis is getting worse every fucking day. Remember that when you vote.
My Target revitalization plan includes re-committing to DEI, an exciting new lineup for Pride 2026, and eliminating locked cases for anything that was not locked up in 2018.
It had already begun pre-ICE invasion. Target rolled back its longstanding DEI policies to please Trump & co. So people (including us) were already boycotting them for that.
Then a year later they became the Gestapo’s best friends and destroyed their already damaged good will.

I won't shop at Target again unless they become a worker-owned cooperative that gives out free whistles, anti-ICE zines, binders, contraception, and K95 masks.
I'll shop at Target again when they offer free meeting/organizing space for abolitionists and mutual aid groups.
I'll shop at Target again when they set up free urgent care facilities and free showers for unhoused people.
I'll shop at Target again when they set up a wing in every store that's a free store where neighbors drop off stuff that other neighbors can take FOR FREE. Also featuring a bank of community fridges.
