this is one of the things that gets me every time. idk. they live there. it’s literally a flying city. not quite as much as the deep space stations but it is still very much Not A Military Vehicle it’s just equipped for defence in the way a walled city was. but in space.

there’s kids on the enterprise because it’s not supposed to be a warship !!!! this isn’t meant to be a military craft !!!! it was a science vessel !!!! this was basically a colony !!!! that moved !!!! peoples’ missions on this thing lasted decades !!!! of course there are children !!!!
