I think I'd fail to match them on acid myself? the final products may be similar but fruit juice is afaik more acidic than whatever they're doing with hops and grains

honestly i think the selling point of romance for me (and where it usually fails to land) is 'can i imagine these people sharing an in-joke' like, are they in cahoots. can they laugh together. do they have a similar enough or at least complementary enough outlook that they can connect over something being funny (even if it's funny in a fucked up way! sometimes those are the best in-jokes!) that's not necessarily true love in and of itself, but it does feel like an essential component to me

Japanese has ONE writing system. Any particular sentence in Japanese will be written ONE way by a native speaker with full fluency. It has three SCRIPTS that are COMPONENTS of the writing system, but modern Japanese cannot be written exclusively in kanji, and all-kana writing is SO hard to parse.

furiously: if you are trying to sell me on your Japanese learning tool, and you say that Japanese has three writing systems, I am IMMEDIATELY going to discard everything you have to say, because you obviously and clearly either do not know basic facts or do not care about the accuracy of them.
