Guillermo del Toro on 'Frankenstein': 'AI can go f**k itself!'
OK, ok, I need to stop being coy and self-effacing. I am DELIGHTED that my work in making lesbian history accessible for authors of historical fiction is being recognized in books that used my work. My ultimate goal is to never again hear an author of a sapphic historical say "There's no sources."
But I am glad that my (very) miserable few months of going back and forth to the dentistโs office somehow became a footnote when I thought Iโd truly hit rock bottom lmao
Oh and I had to get a handful of root canals at the start of the year because of an orthodontistโs terrible work on my teeth. Itโs just been one thing after the other for me all year. ๐ซก
This year decided to test me in every way. I have been sleep deprived, anxious, had my first ever panic attack, experienced both limerence & actual love (w/ 2 separate people), got my heart broken, possibly failed an exam for the first time ever, & lost my twitter account of 7 years to a stupid scam
Iโm so happy for you and wish you an eternity of love. Thank you so much for sharing <3
Falling for someone who doesnโt live in your country is stupid and foolish and torturous because why does my heart feel displaced, why am I suddenly so terrified about the wellbeing of someone I canโt physically protect.
OMG THANK YOU. This is just giving me more incentive to learn faster lol.
What your favorite Latin script says about you: all examples are labeled "you are a nerd"
Harsh but fair
Praying for his fast recovery and that he be in good health soon โค๏ธ

Looking for all of my booktwt mutuals on twitter & new writing mutuals! If you can RT this and spread the word, Iโd really appreciate it.
Hey, everyone! Iโm Yasmine, a medic & writer of glittering historical fiction & visceral feminist gothic horror. I have a massive love for Mediterranean history.
Adding onto that, I think we should all collectively change the way we consume historical fiction. Fiction is not meant to teach you history; itโs meant to tell a story, first and foremost. Read actual academic history books!
Enough history-inspired Fantasy. I want more Historical Fantasy that doesnโt shy away from the research. Give me the historical backdrop to sink my teeth into.

Falling in love was not on my agenda for 2025, but this year has been full of surprises
The most accurate scene in Greyโs Anatomy is when Cristina is sat on the bathroom floor crying over a guy when she should be studying for her boards. Women in medicine core.
โShe doesnโt have albinism, her eyebrows and eyelashes are darkโ
Have you all never heard of this really cool thing called makeup? You know, the billion dollar global industry?
My twitter account was recently hacked, and I lost contact with thousands of my mutuals. If you can help find some of them here, I would truly appreciate it!!
Oh my god, thank you. Please DM me then!!!

Itโs wild to see this post and think back to everything that has happened in the past 5 months. I am not the same girl I was when I posted this lol.
Unlike the sparkling limelights of the showman, the world of a private collector is full of secrets. Specimens lay scattered in the deep crevices of the earth, to be picked up and gathered in cages and shelves. The provenance of such objects is never without doubt. Much akin to his peers, the late Lord Frederick Blackwell was a naturalist, an anatomist, and a thief.

itโs good to be back <3
This has truly been one of the most transformative years of my life, but it has made me very neglectful of a massive part of what makes me who I am. But I will be back to writing and reading and being my badass writerly self soon enough. โค๏ธ
Itโs iconic.
Logging onto this site has made me incredibly nostalgic. So much has happened in the past year that I havenโt been able to focus on writing and reading and interacting with my book community mutuals. Iโve missed it all so much.

Iโve decided to try and suspend my twitter account. If everyone who follows me on twitter can report the account, I would really appreciate it.
