I recognize youβre done.
Just trying to get people to stop changing the light bulb when rats are chewing on the wiring. Toodles.
Absolutely! I would do the same!
We agree
lol
Not sure that has any semblance of an argument, my dude.
All good. Iβm mostly just hella curious why this is Discordβs fault and not the legislation they are protecting themself from or preparing for. I get the upset. But this all feels like misplaced blame, and no one seems to want to explain - especially when there is a big queer presence at discord.
Adult stores definitely card young people. I canβt speak for a small store in tiny town.
I agree with you that this is not about children, and yes it is usually always a lie coming from republicans.
I also very clearly am blaming one specific section of people, not NSFW content creators⦠not sure how that idea was presented
Suddenly a problem now that republicans are making legislation that is problematic*
There were several other responses that I feel are all very down to earth. I donβt agree with them all, but I can certainly see how a business could respond this way. Iβm open to counterpoints.
So cute.
As someone who is not a foot fetishist, is the salt and pepper on the foot a good thing or a bad thing? Genuinely curious.
Another way to look at this whole thing is that all of the NSFW artists are currently a liability to their business. Being fined or sued because they arenβt following a law that only applies to some people is a liability. Even if those users pay for Nitro, the net gain is most likely not there.
None of the US legislation being created or attacked has to do with kids in mind. It is the result of people pushing a puritanical viewpoint (while also participating in and being complicit with a huge pedophile ring)
Iβm not saying any of this is *right*, but the hysteria that Discord is the aggressor here is just false/misplace blame. This is not Discordβs doing.
Section 230 currently protects platforms like discord from the sort of content you are posting on their platform. There is a republican push to remove these protections. Do you think discord should not be taking steps to protect themselves?

You may have good intentions, but should there not be any restrictions on the content you are making public? Is it fair to expect you to be able to host your artwork on a secure site that is age restricted before thereβs a framework set up to make small businesses able to do so?
