Same as in cricket - the players chat for a few seconds, the captain decides.

Captain, not manager.

It can't apply to the whole FA Cup, because it starts with Devizes Town against Chippenham. And if it's switched off for the whole competition, the final could be settled by a clearly wrong decision.

Needs to be tried out.

But it was you, not young people, who used the phrase.

True. But characterising the Labour government as "being so aggressively against trans people" is nonsense.

Observing women's rights to female-only spaces is not "being so aggressively against trans people".

For me, a flaw of Breaking Bad was that by the end of the first series, I thought: "Walter White is so horrible that I wouldn't mind if someone shot him in the head right now."

The Sopranos had a far more forceful moral message, though of course many "fans" of the show hero-worship Tony.

In 2007 I got a new passport that misspelled my middle name as JOMN instead of JOHN (I'd written the H a bit sloppily on the form). No one noticed in the course of a couple of flights, until I spotted it myself and returned it for a new one. Might be trickier now.

Were you at school with NF? Worked with him in the City when he was a tin trader? Met him through politics?

1/3 I'm writing a book about Nigel Farage for Headline.

Some of his pals are blanking me.

Is it because after I reported on the killing of a Polish man in Essex in 2016, he said that I had caused him "more misery than any other in 25 years in politics"?

@worldbollardassoc.bsky.social I like transverse bollards as well as the vertical ones. Seen on the docks in Lubeck.

I earned decent pay as a journalist, and I get a good pension now. I'm not at all sure that I could have made lots more money in another profession.

Hasn't the adjustment made it slightly closer to the Vichy slogan? Vichy didn't mention tradition.
