I swear to fuck that the modern age looks at the concept of "offline backups" with incurious confusion and it fills me with so much goddamn nerdrage.
3-2-1 rule. 3 copies, 2 different types of media, 1 offsite. Snapshots are not backups. A solid backup strategy is going to have at least one copy that cannot be deleted even with authorized credentials.
