I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

I don’t know how to use chatgpt etc but I imagine it’s going to a website and typing “oh no what groceries do I buy please tell me false god for I am so weak I cannot go on” as your brain atrophies and leaks out of your ears from disuse and the machine is like “buy eggs milk bread and a horse”

What I love about this is it exists not only as a useful resource written by a slew of stupidly smart people but it started due to someone saying something incredibly stupid online.
So stupid it causes a book to be made in retaliation.

That alone should get you to buy it.

There is no marketing I'm more susceptible to these days than any company saying they don't use generative AI in their projects. I'm a sitting duck for that promise even if they're selling graham crackers or masking tape.

This is what happens when you turn your human-curated language learning platform into an AI-first platform. Fucking deserved.

The year is 2027. All TV and movies are made by one company.

It makes exactly one movie or series a year and then immediately deletes it as a tax write-off before releasing it.

Somehow it employs only one person, who makes minimum wage, and still lays off half its employees each month.

I continue to be fascinated by the phenomenon whereby an expert engages with any of the LLMs on their field of expertise and is instantly horrified by the wrong answers, and then goes on to use it for things they are not experts in as though it won’t be just as bad for those.
