This may be wishful thinking but loudly stating that “we raised gas prices on purpose, not by mistake”, might actually be enough for karoline to get under bussed?

We are not at war with Iran, although we have been for the last 50 years.

Look at tsla valuation, SpaceX valuation… finance has been overrun by clearly insensible yolo bros… we are living through the golden age of fraud, and they don’t know what a down market looks like… but they might be finding out soon

I keep thinking about this weird thing where the DOJ is investigating Jerome Powell for allegedly lying to the Senate about renovations (even though no senators have accused him of lying), while Kristi Noem told the Senate Trump approved her $220M ad campaign and Trump himself said that wasn't true.

I’m sure if Biden posted late one Sat night that he wanted the governor of Louisiana to rush a hospital ship to Greenland for a serious medical emergency in their populace at a time when we had no hospital ships available and there was no emergency the media would also ignore it.

Whether this was a moral decision or a public perception / marketing call (just put a human in the loop so we won’t be blamed) you can decide based on your level of cynicism… either way they have been kind of proven right…

I think this was exactly why Anthropic was worried, it knows Claude screws up sometimes, just like every llm will sometimes, and knew that if you automatically targeted and fired weapons based on Claude’s output you would inevitably kill innocents, and they wanted to specifically avoid this usage…

Polymarket has created a market that would monetize a nuclear attack amid increasing concerns that bets are happening among government insiders who can make military decisions.

What stage of the apocalypse is this?

Anthropic’s AI model Claude gets popularity boost after US military feud Claude climbs to top of app store charts in US and UK after being blacklisted by Pentagon over ethics concerns

As I've been saying for days: this feud with Hegseth -- in which Anthropic looks principled, and Claude looks so valuable that the Pentagon can't live without it -- has been terrific marketing for Anthropic www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

I don’t even really think this is fair. Iraq was heavily debated publicly, and there was a plan. It was a stupid and delusional plan based on unrealistic assumptions, but it was known publicly and voted on by Congress.

There was no public debate or Congressional authorization in this instance.

It’s insane this is legal. People around Trump are profiting off war and death. I’m introducing legislation ASAP to ban this.

I want to be clear on this chain of events.

Trump admin: "we want to use anthropic ai models for autonomous weapons and surveillance"

Anthropic: "no."

Trump admin: "Stop trying to control us with your woke ideology!!!!!"

This really has gotten to crazy obsessive ex territory...

if you believe in any form of free enterprise at all, the idea that the Pentagon can not only cut off your contract but designate you a supply chain risk and prevent other companies from buying from you just because you won't build killbots for the government should be terrifying

I have to disagree a bit... we got to this place because some people (and there are a lot of them) did whatever the television (Fox) told them... I guess the silver lining is that that set of people is already in the Trump cult, so maybe there's not much more to mine there...
