I couldn’t agree more. Knowing how much hard work goes into anything creative, if I don’t like something, I keep it to myself or text a friend directly rather than sharing it publicly. There’s enough hate going around that piling onto the arts with it seems like the wrong move

At what point did thoughtful art critique become unacceptable based on the artist’s contributions to the medium? It’s entirely possible for any titan of the arts to produce subpar work, and acknowledging it doesn’t devalue their overall importance.
