I submitted a paper I desperately want to get rid of to a top journal I've never read, from a management subfield that I don't even like... 4 months to get back to us, R&R, resubmitted and it's been 4 months again...

Beyond integrating decades of research, we also spotlight what's missing: (1) structure-agency feedback loops; (2) a closer look at individuals inhabiting institutions; and (3) unintended effects of well-intended efforts.

We offer a multi-level framework capturing how individuals, organizations, industries, and countries both respond to and reshape institutions over time.
