Yes! It's one of the few prayers we have recorded. This one was recorded in the oldest Tagalog dictionary, "Vocabulario de la lengua tagala" by San Buenaventura in 1613.
Illustration of Lakapati by Sam Sumulong aka samsum.art on IG.
"Lakapati, pakanin mo yaring alipin mo. Huwag mong gutumin." English Translation βLakapati, feed this servant of yours. Don't let them hunger.β
One of the few prayers to a deity, we have recorded in the oldest Tagalog dictionary. Lakapati is the intersex deity of agriculture & giver of food.
Every harvest time, the Bikolano held an atang or thanksgiving ritual,to the deity Gugurang. The asog, an intersex priest, led the people in offering newly harvested crops called himoloan. These were given, while a balyana, a priestess, chanted prayers & recited the sorake, an ode to Gugurang.

Filipinos who voted for Trump, are the same ones who love, support, & vote for the Marcos family, both Ferdinand and Bongbong Marcos. Same type of people, different font.
That slogan, "Make America Great Again"? Ya, that comes from Ferdinand Marcos slogan, "We Shall Make This Nation Great Again".
Hi Olivia! Haha you know I'm down for that. Unfortunately I won't be able to get to Denver this year in my travels, but I'd still love to sit down and be a guest! Still working on creating episodes for my YouTube account. π

Speaking of podcast, I have been leaning more on starting one. Where I essentially just discuss pre-colonial Philippine history, culture, practices, mythology, folklore, and beliefs. Because I can talk all day. β¨οΈ

I can't emphasize enough how much I'm deeply passionate about researching & sharing info on pre-colonial Philippine history, culture, practices, & beliefs.
But at the same time, I'm so scattered brained & want to do so many projects. A podcast, blogging, writing ebooks, posting on Youtube. π

πΈπ΅π Drawing inspiration from Bisayan mythology, for this #Filipino cultural heritage photoshoot I did in Las Vegas, I was inspired by the Bisayan goddess of war, poisons, & oils, Naginid.
I love doing #portraits inspired by fantasy & #mythology, so this was fun to do!
