The last one I can fully repair for now, might need to give its wheels a more thorough clean but it runs decently enough, glad to have found one for a reasonable price too, these go for silly money on the likes of Ebay 💀 £20 for the 2 car set is pretty good

A dismantled N Scale locomotive, showing an interesting "tube" drivetrain, directly above the worm gears in the center, instead of driveshafts or a geared drive.
This is what the inside of a Life-Like E6A (≈2000) looks like. I got it down this far to clean it, only to discover I'm out of alcohol, on a Saturday morning.
Thirty years ago, I wouldn't have discovered I was out of alcohol until much later in the day!🍺🤭
The more things change.... 🤷😂smh

Trottingham Vale Light Railway carriage 17, built by Brown Marshalls & Co in 1875
The carriage was made from a Worsley Works FR carriage 15 scratch aid kit. The roof was made from window blinds and the interior scratch built from plasticard.
Carriage 17 behind recently completed Ashbury carriage 7
It’s been a long time since I built a brass kit, over the last year I challenged myself to build a Worsley Works scratch aid kit. It wasn’t the cleanest build but I’m so happy with how it turned out, especially with the completed Trottingham Vale livery.

Another Statfold purchase fixed, convinced this one’s been modified in the past, lining isn’t on right so I reckon it’s someone’s earliest decal job

The Double Fairlie is a masterpiece of Welsh engineering 🏴 By using two articulated power bogies, Robert Fairlie’s design allowed these engines to haul massive slate trains around the tight curves of the Ffestiniog Railway. Truly an icon of the narrow gauge world! 🚂💨

#modelrailroading I decided that since Luke's Fine Dining was facing one street, and the rear of it was facing another one that it needed a fence to block the view of the junk in the back. So today I'm building the fence.

2 Weeks until my Ffarquhar Branch's first show of the year starts. Hoping to have Stepney's Enthusiasts train completed before then. Only a few small details and painting is left to do to them before they're ready to go out.

Ideally, the chassis I want to use for this would be a tender driven A4. However, a possibility would be another Triang princess class chassis. Really I want to buy a chassis without a bodyshell so I'm not butchering a running loco. So I'll have to use what I can find online.

A side shot of a resin Hush Hush body shell in the background, with its tender in the foreground. The tender has no wheels and has a metal terminal sticking out of it, this would connect to a ringfield motor if it were present.
A better view of the Hush Hush bodyshell. This is a shot of the front of the locomotive. No buffers are present and it lacks refined details. But it will be a great reference to take measurements off.
A side view of the W1 Hush Hush without the tender, making it easier to see. Its painted into a light grey colour, and currently lacking handrails on the side. The body shell includes no wheels or chassis of any kind. It is also hollow without any cab detail or bulkhead etc in the cab.
Long time followers might remember I bought this Hush Hush Kit bodyshell and tender a long time ago, with plans to use it as reference for a 3D printable locomotive. Well, with me designing a lot of locomotive shells, I've decided my next project will be the W1 hush hush #modelrailway

I had the realisation that this is the first locomotive I have designed that isn't steam powered. But I like obscure, odd and experimental locomotives. Not sure when I will design a diesel, I'm yet to see one that interests me. But I'd be up to an early electric if I see one I like.

Front view of my GT3 bodyshell, rendered in Blender. Very much a work in progress, lacking many details on the buffer beam, steps, fan etc.
Side view of the GT3. Most of the current detail is at the front of the locomotive as I slowly work my way back to the cab. Underneath the body shell is a rough template of the B12 chassis that I will be using. The lack of detail currently on the back of the loco is apparent in this shot.
Slowly getting somewhere with the GT3. #modelrailway #3Ddesign #3Dprintable #Blender
